On February 28th, a discussion took place in the Saeima, focusing on opportunities for public participation in national level decision-making in Latvia and other countries. During the event, the Analytical Service of Saeima presented its study “Opportunities for Participation in National Decision-Making Processes: Referendums, Petitions, and Innovations in Democracy”.
The discussion was moderated by Deputy Speaker of the Saeima Zanda Kalniņa-Lukaševica and featured contributions from LaSER’s Director, Professor Daunis Auers, Civic Alliance (Latvijas Pilsoniskā Alianse) Director Kristīne Zonberga and Saeima Analytical Service researcher Liene Rācene-Riekstiņa.
