As part of the State Chancellery’s Innovation Sprint, Daunis Auers, Director of LaSER, and Malvīne Stučka, co-author of LaSER’s policy review “No Disruption, No Progress: Reforming Latvia’s Public Administration”, collaborated with representatives of the Register of Enterprises.
During the workshop the team identified a key overarching goal: to create simple and meaningful processes and services. The group also conducted an in-depth analysis of risks, opportunities, and potential solutions. Throughout the discussions and working sessions, a central idea was emphasized – reducing bureaucracy requires not only reviewing procedures but also fundamentally changing mindsets and institutional culture.
LaSER’s involvement in this initiative contributes not only to the development of specific pilot projects, but also to the creation of a methodology for bureaucracy reduction, which could be applied across other public institutions in the future. The collaboration between the Register of Enterprises, LaSER, and the State Chancellery marks an important step toward driving practical and systemic change within Latvia’s public administration.
