In an interview with the newspaper Diena, Daunis Auers, Chair of the Board of the LaSER think tank, assessed Latvia’s economic development prospects amid global uncertainty.
During the interview, Daunis Auers noted that Latvia’s overall macroeconomic indicators remain positive, but the country’s economic development is being affected by geopolitical uncertainty, changes in U.S. economic policy, and Europe’s declining competitiveness. He also stressed that strengthening Latvia’s competitiveness will require continued modernization of the economy, reducing bureaucracy, making more efficient use of public resources, and implementing clearly defined priorities with measurable outcomes.
