On Thursday, October 30, at the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), Latvian Prime Minister Evika Siliņa and Lithuanian Prime Minister Inga Ruginienė met with business representatives and chambers of commerce from both countries. The discussion focused on the vision for the Baltic Tiger, as defined in LaSER’s report Latvia 2040: Four Future Scenarios and further developed in the report Towards the Baltic Tiger: How to Strengthen Baltic Defence Cooperation? as well as the idea of a united Baltic brand on the global stage.

The reports emphasize that for long-term economic growth and security, the Baltic States must deepen their cooperation in defence, diplomacy, functional collaboration and economic identity. The Baltic region’s potential increases significantly when Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia position themselves as one strategic player, rather than three separate economies.

“The Latvian and Lithuanian economies are closely interconnected, and we have significant opportunities to deepen cooperation, especially in the defence industry and the digital sector. With a more business-friendly environment, closer economic ties, and fewer bureaucratic obstacles, we can strengthen the Baltic region’s global competitiveness,” noted Latvian Prime Minister Evika Siliņa.

Lithuanian Prime Minister Inga Ruginienė emphasized that both countries share a common goal — ensuring security, prosperity and a competitive environment for entrepreneurs. In her view, The Baltics as a common brand is a positive idea worth developing, and closer, coordinated action would help turn this vision into reality.

The discussion highlighted that moving toward a unified Baltic identity — The Baltics — could significantly enhance the region’s international visibility, investment attraction, and export growth. The support expressed by both Prime Ministers confirms that the Baltic Tiger strategic vision developed by LaSER is gaining traction on the political agenda, advancing a unified, future-oriented development pathway for the region.
