On July 10, the ninth World Latvian Economics and Innovations Forum (WLEIF 2025) took place at the National Library of Latvia. Since its inception in 2013, the forum has become one of the most important meeting points for diaspora entrepreneurs. The event was once again moderated by Daunis Auers, director of LaSER and professor at the University of Latvia.
This year’s forum focused on strategically important sectors – national security and defense, energy, technology, healthcare, talent development, and other areas that shape Latvia’s future growth potential. Throughout the day, speakers included top-level government officials, as well as business leaders from Latvia and the diaspora.
The goal of WLEIF is to foster collaboration between professionals in Latvia and abroad, strengthen the attraction of innovation and knowledge capital to Latvia, and deepen the sense of belonging among Latvians living outside the country.
